Dear Dr Gaszynski, A note to thank you for your lift-saving labour on my bowel. The photographs tell only part of the story - four hours of concentrated hard work to create a functioning bowel. Your skill and experience have produced a good outcome. For that, I thank you. I must admit in the immediately post-surgical days, in the fog and discomfort, with a considerable hill to climb, the alternative looked attractive. Happily I came through that valley and now I want to use the days you have made possible for ‘life’. Your very relaxed conversation with my daughter and son-in-law this morning was appreciated - a very ‘human’ face. Thank you for your excellent work.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation for Dr Rafael Gaszynski, who performed my femoral hernia surgery. I am over 60 years old and come from a culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) background. I was extremely nervous in the operating theatre so much so that I was trembling. It was only when I saw Dr Gaszynski that I finally felt relieved and reassured. Dr Gaszynski was kind, patient, and highly professional throughout my care. He took the time to clearly explain everything, ensuring I fully understood the procedure, the risks, and the recovery process. His expertise and reassurance helped me feel confident and well cared for. I am very grateful for his skill and compassion, and I highly recommend Dr Gaszynski to anyone in need of surgical care.

I just had to drop you both a note to thank you and your respective teams for the most pleasurable experience. I have had procedures at the SAN previously and always such a good experience. Today however was however exceptional, and the most pleasurable experience, not something you would normally associate with a medical procedure/operation. I was saying to my partner Michelle, it looked like my two surgical/anaesthesia leads had stepped off a Hollywood film set or Vogue centre fold. 😉 While I assume my procedure was a fairly basic one, the care, attention to detail, and most noticeable of all was the welcoming and friendly nature of every single person I dealt with… not only those directly involved with my procedure but the many other nursing and other support staff I crossed paths with was simply amazing. It is now 5 hrs post procedure, and the only sign of any discomfort is my throat which is a little sore and understandable. Zero pain so far from the incision but I am sure that may change a little. I came out of the anaesthetic feeling like I was on cloud 9 ready for a meal and wanting to get up and go. Anyway, thank you both again along with your respective support staff! I almost want to book in for another procedure. 😝
